Social Media Tools
Help us promote your events on our website
Are you holding a fun workplace campaign event? Help share about it by posting to United Way Toronto’s social media profiles. If you connect with us before the start of your campaign or major event, we can even help put together a short social media campaign for your workplace, where we work together to get the word out about your organization’s great efforts for our community.
By connecting with your United Way Toronto representative or emailing us at least a week in advance of your event, a staff member from our marketing team will attend and do a short story, take photos or video of your workplace event. We’ll let you know when the story is on our website and invite you to share the web link with your staff, helping you acknowledge the generosity of your organization with our online community.

Here’s a description of each of our social media profiles and how to utilize them during your campaign:
Facebook
To get started, like our Facebook page, United Way Toronto, and encourage all your coworkers to do the same. Here, you’ll find daily updates on what is happening with our member agencies, news from our community, highlights from other workplace campaigns, and more. Share your goals, progress and successes with us by posting short messages or photos and video. Facebook is a great way not only to acknowledge the efforts of your coworkers but also to see what other organizations are doing to support the cause, too.
Twitter
By following our Twitter profile, @unitedwayto, you and your coworkers can share your fundraising accomplishments, information about your workplace events, your goal and achievement, and any other fun items about how you’re supporting the cause. Plus, you’ll get up-to-the-minute news about what United Way Toronto is doing, too.
Google+
As the newest United Way Toronto social media profile, Google+ allows you to join our online community circle. Here you can also post and share stories, photos, videos, and links about your workplace campaign. If your company has a page on Google+, let us know and we’ll add you to our circle.
YouTube
United Way Toronto’s YouTube Channel is a great resource for videos that highlight the work we’re doing in our community. You can choose to ‘Like’ or save a video to your own YouTube account by making it a ‘Favourite’. Plus, you can share these inspirational videos with your coworkers in your email communication or on your organization’s intranet by simply cutting and pasting the individual link, or embedding the video. You can embed a video by clicking on the ‘Share’ button at the bottom of the video, then click on ‘Embed’ (the code will appear in a field below). From here, you can also grab the link, share it via Facebook or Twitter, or email it directly from YouTube.
Flickr
We also have a public Flickr account where we keep all our United Way Toronto photos, including photos from workplace campaigns. We encourage you to connect with us so we can share your photos on our Flicker account.
