First-year fundraisers Public Mobile achieves $25,000 for our city
As one of United Way Toronto’s new supporters this year, employees at Public Mobile didn’t set a fundraising goal for themselves, only hoping to do their best. With hard work and dedication, staff exceeded their own expectations, raising an impressive $25,000 for our community.
“Because it was our first campaign, we didn’t set a goal,” explains Barbara Kiff, the Executive Campaign Chair of Public Mobile’s workplace campaign. “We’ve set the bar high with over $25,000 in donations.” Having achieved this goal, next year Public Mobile employees plan on running a campaign in support of United Way.
With strong support from across all employee groups, staff took part in a pledge drive. They also held activities such as a lunch and learn with a United Way agency speaker, Pat Israel, from Family Service Toronto, and a fun pub night.
With Public Mobile serving many customers in the Priority Neighbourhoods, and many staff members already familiar with United Way’s work, supporting the cause is a natural fit for the company.
“Public Mobile supports United Way because we believe United Way has a positive, immediate impact on the neighbourhoods in which we operate,” explains Barbara.
“The areas United Way agencies provide support to very closely mirrors the map of areas where Public Mobile operates. We very much want to support the communities in which we do business.”
Thank you to everyone at Public Mobile for your support — we couldn’t do it without you.
