UPS Pull for Our Communities
2011 UPS United Way Pull for Our Communities a success
Young participants at the UPS United Way Pull for Our Communities give the event’s main activity a try.
UPS Canada held another successful United Way fundraising event, UPS United Way Pull for Our Communities, on Saturday, October 1, 2011 with 12 teams made up of employees and over 50 volunteers participating. The event raised approximately $3,600 for United Way’s Community Fund, helping us come closer to our fundraising goal of $116-million.
Held at UPS’ Toronto Hub location, the event saw employees pulling UPS trucks and package cars in teams, which saw some stiff competition for the honour of winning the top titles. First-place winner of the Tractor Pull segment was team Tyco—Sporting a Beer Gut with a time of 21.10 seconds. Second place went to team UPS Feeders 1—Package Car with a time of 21.75 seconds. And third place was captured by team Tractor—6th Willowdale Scout Group with a time of 23.63 seconds.
In the Package Car Haul segment, first place also went to team Tyco—Sporting a Beer Gut with a time of 16 seconds. Second place went to team Santina’s Boys II Men with a time of 16.34 seconds, and third place went to team UPS Feeder Team 1 with a time of 16:59 seconds. There was even an opportunity for employees’ young children to give pulling a try. To everyone at UPS Canada, thank you for your continued support.
