The 2008 Great Neighbourhood Race was a rousing success. Not even the rain could dampen the spirits of the over 230 racers and volunteers who took to the streets to compete, discover Toronto gems, solve puzzles, help out United Way agencies and party-it up at Revival following the race!
In all, over $30,000 was raised from the event and every dollar of it is going to United Way's Community Fund!
The race brought teams to the following locations:
- Start: United Way Toronto / Berczy Park
- Checkpoint 1: Dance District in the Distillery District
- Checkpoint 2: The Vault at The Suites at 1 King West
- Checkpoint 3: Booster Juice at Yonge and Wellesley
- Checkpoint 4: FoodShare, a United Way agency
- Checkpoint 5: Volunteer Toronto, a United Way partner
- Checkpoint 6: MaRS Discovery District
- Checkpoint 7: University Settlement, a United Way agency
- Checkpoint 8: Kensington Market sponsored by RE/MAX Hallmark Realty
- Checkpoint 9: Revival
United Way thanks all of its Checkpoint partners and the wonderful individuals who assisted us at them.
