A GenNext Ambassador is someone who acts as the voice of GenNext within their workplace. They have a direct connection with the GenNext Cabinet as well as their workplace campaign committee.
Ambassadors are responsible for helping get their demographic more involved in workplace campaigns. They receive information and guidance on how to get the GenNext demographic engaged, as well as guidance on how to hold events, and how to choose engaging speakers. They are also offered the opportunity to network with other GenNext Ambassadors throughout the year.
Create a GenNext Committee within your workplace campaign committee
In some organizations where the GenNext demographic is quite large, the Ambassador role has been expanded into a GenNext committee. Similar to the Ambassador role, the committee works alongside the workplace campaign committee to organize exclusive GenNext events and activities specifically targeted at engaging GenNexters. By having more employees working specifically on GenNext initiatives, the level of engagement and donations at the GenNext level often increases substantially.
Committees are encouraged to nominate someone from their team to be the official GenNext Ambassador in order to ensure that they receive all the resources available to them from the GenNext program at United Way Toronto.

A few FAQs:
What would I do as a GenNext Ambassador?
Primarily, as an Ambassador, you would act as a channel for information from the GenNext cabinet and as a motivator of other GenNexters within your workplace. The Ambassador also plans a GenNext-targeted event during your workplace campaign in order to educate people about United Way and get them involved.
What sort of help would I get as an Ambassador?
You receive a short Ambassador Manual, along with a training session or two throughout the year, and ongoing communications from a GenNext cabinet member who acts as your liaison. Your cabinet liaison and United Way staff are available to support you throughout the year, whenever you have questions.
I have more questions and want to know more. Who can I ask?
Start by e-mailing gennext@uwgt.org and we'll get back to you with more details!
